3. Data collection on our website

Cookies

Some of the Internet pages use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your end device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.

Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested (e.g. shopping basket function) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies to analyse your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are treated separately in this privacy policy.

Server log files

The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are

  • Browser type and browser version
  • The operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – the server log files must be recorded for this purpose.

Enquiry by email, telephone or fax

If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry including all personal data (name, enquiry) will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of processing your request. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR if your enquiry is related to the fulfilment of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and/or on our legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR), as we have a legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us.

The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.

4. Plugins and tools

Google Web Fonts

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the standardised display of fonts. When you access a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Google’s servers. This informs Google that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a standard font will be used by your computer.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.

Google Analytics

a) We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”) to analyse and statistically evaluate the use of our website (web analytics). Web analysis is the collection, collation and evaluation of data about the behaviour of visitors to websites. Among other things, Google Analytics collects data about the website from which a data subject came to a website (so-called referrer), which subpages of the website were accessed or how often and for how long a subpage was viewed. We use web analysis to optimise our website and, if necessary, to analyse the costs and benefits of internet advertising. This enables us to customise the design of our website.

The use does not include the “Universal Analytics” operating mode (and thus cross-device tracking of user activities).

b) Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on the user’s end device and that enable the use of the website to be analysed by the user. The information generated by the cookie about the use of our website by the user, such as browser type/version, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited page), host name of the accessing computer (IP address), time of the server request, is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on our website, the user’s IP address will first be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

c) The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

d) Under no circumstances will the IP address of the analysed user be associated with other data relating to the user. Our website uses Google Analytics with the extension “_anonymiseIp()”. This guarantees that the user’s IP address is masked so that all data is collected anonymously. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. To the extent that the data collected about the user is personally identifiable, this is immediately excluded and the personal data is deleted immediately.

e) Further information on data protection for the Google Analytics web analysis service can be found at support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245 from the third-party provider.

f) We store the user and event data in the Google Analytics application for 26 months. This data is then deleted.

g) The legal basis for the collection of this analysis data is Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 f GDPR (legitimate interest of the controller). Our overriding legitimate interest is to be able to determine the reach of our website via the usage analysis in order to optimise it.

h) Options for objection

Users can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to their use of our websites (including their IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in (browser add-on) available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Then its visit data is not recorded via Google Analytics JavaScript and Google Analytics is deactivated. This add-on prevents the forwarding of visit data to Google Analytics via Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js and dc.js). The browser add-on can be used with most modern browsers.

As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, the user can also prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by clicking on deactivate Google Analytics. We will then place an opt-out cookie on the user’s device, which will prevent the future collection of their data when they visit our website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website and is stored on the user’s device. If the user deletes this cookie in this browser, they must set the opt-out cookie again.
