What is spiritual healing?

Spiritual healing, also known as spiritual healing, is a term for various alternative, also esoteric or religious methods that aim to treat illnesses or ailments through mental or spiritual powers, without scientific proof, as is the case with conventional medicine. It is important to mention the latter because the scientific cannot be replaced by the divine.

Spiritual healing refers to methods and explanations for healing illness through the transmission of a special mental power, a deep cleansing energy that emanates from the healer. In the healing rituals of traditional cultures, healers, shamans or therapists are attributed such a healing power. In the major religions, too, certain authorised persons are ascribed access to divine or cosmic healing energy, which is why it is difficult to clearly define spiritual healing.

In this context, spiritual healing is understood as a modern phenomenon: detached from established beliefs and religions, supported by the special gift of individuals who maintain a special lifestyle.

Traditional religions, on the other hand, are based on teachings and practices handed down over generations - whether orally in ethnic religions or in writing in the world religions.

What is the difference in spiritual healing between the spirit and the soul?

The word "spirit" only refers to the non-corporeal part of the human being. We have a spirit, but we are not spirit.

The spirit is the element in man that enables him to have a personal relationship with God or the Creator. Whenever the word "spirit" is used, it refers to the non-corporeal part of man, including his soul.

The word "soul" refers not only to the non-physical part of the human being, but also to the physical part. In contrast to a person having a "spirit", a person is a "soul". In the simplest terms, the word "soul" actually means "life".

The "soul" and the "spirit" are at the centre of many mental and emotional experiences. Whenever the word "soul" is used, it can refer to the whole person - both in life and after death.

"Soul" and "spirit" are similar in the way they are used in the spiritual life of the believer. They refer to different things.

The "soul" is the horizontal view of the human world.
The "spirit" is the perpendicular view of man with God. It is important to understand that both refer to the non-corporeal part of man, but that only the "spirit" refers to man's walk with God. The "soul" refers to man's walk in the world, corporeal and non-corporeal at the same time.
